When it comes to movies, many people alway focused on either the film itself or a particular film duo. Sometimes it only takes only one character to make a movie worth watching over and over again. Here is a list of five film characters that have left an indelible mark on movie and television screens ever since based on storytelling and the actor's portrayal of the character. Read the list to see if you agree or disagree in order to form your own personal opinions.
1.) Henry Hill in Goodfellas (1990) – Goodfellas has been remembered for a lot of things based on the talented director and cast, but it was Ray Liotta's Henry Hill that the most memorable because the audience saw how his criminal world functioned in his eyes. The movie also demonstrated the tragedy of once that life went up in smoke when the law finally caught up with him.
2.) Catwoman in Batman Returns (1992)- The premiere movie villainess in the Batman franchise. Michelle Pfeiffer appeared to truly enjoy playing the strong confident woman who needed a leather suit and nine lives to get what she wanted. It was also tragic to realize that revenge took over her life so much that she sacrificed love with her need for the people who wronged her to suffer.
3.) Patrick Bateman in American Psycho (2000)- Christian Bale made Bateman a product of 80s greed that needed to do anything he could to feel alive, even kill people. He loved the material things of his Wallstreet life and did everything he could to feel superior to supposed friends. The only thing left uncertain was whether or not he was really the killer he thought he was. The film left that to the audience to decide for themselves.
4.) Butch Cassidy in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)- Kid was the ultimate buddy film that cemented Robert Redford and Paul Newman as two guys audiences wouldn't mind hanging out with. It made Redford a star, but it also indicated how Newman's comedic timing was pitch perfect. He made Cassidy a schemer that always watched his plans blow up in smoke literally like the train car safe with too much dynamite.
5.) James Bond in Dr. No (1962)- For some, Goldfinger was the film that truly unleased Ian Fleming's literary spy because all of the elements worked in its favor. It was actually this one that made a stronger impression. Not just because of Ursula Andress's swimsuit clad debut. Dr. No introduced Sean Connery as the perfect James Bond. He brought a sense of cool elegance that hasn't been matched by future Bonds since.

In the end, movie characters were sometimes more memorable than the films themselves. For example, James Bond's presence outweighed the skippable On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Unforgettable movie characters are never more important than a good script. If the story doesn't work, no amount of acting can make movie magic.
